Project Overview
Ashfall Ascendant is a post-apocalyptic sci-fantasy trilogy set in a future where humanity surrendered control of its world in exchange for advanced technology.
When powerful extraterrestrial visitors arrived on Earth, global elites negotiated access to humanity's resources in return for technological advancement. The result was the consolidation of civilization into a single massive city where wealth, power, and opportunity became increasingly centralized. Beyond its walls, vast populations were abandoned to survive in the ash-covered wastelands below.
The story follows Kael, an orphan known as the Ash-Can Hero. Cast out during childhood and forced to survive through intelligence, ingenuity, and persistence, Kael learns to salvage discarded technology from the city above, reverse-engineer advanced systems, and navigate the hidden infrastructure connecting the world's forgotten populations.
When a secret interdimensional portal exposes the ruling elite's true intentions, Kael discovers that humanity has been deceived. Powerful spiritual entities from beyond the portal reveal that Earth's resources are being systematically harvested for an off-world agenda and that most of humanity was never intended to survive.
Recognized for his character rather than his status, Kael is recruited by these beings and given access to knowledge, technology, and abilities capable of challenging the system itself.
What begins as a survival story evolves into a conflict over freedom, control, and the future of reality.
Core Themes
Kael's strength begins in scavenging, adaptation, observation, and the ability to turn discarded systems into tools for survival.
The city above the ash wastes becomes a structure of technological privilege, resource control, and planned abandonment.
Interdimensional beings, hidden portals, and advanced systems complicate the boundary between faith, machinery, and cosmic responsibility.
The trilogy asks what replaces a broken system once revolution succeeds, and whether survival alone is enough.
