Traditional and Digital Fabrication and Design
Each campus has access to the various visual and digital art studios. Their varying equipment and spaces support students in all of the Dallas and surrounding communities. It is my privilege to lead a diverse staff to achieve student success with traditional and immerging technology education.
As Lab Manager for the Dallas College School of Creative Arts, Entertainment, and Design, I am responsible for the comprehensive management, operation, and safety of all Visual and Performing Art studios. My duties include:
Managing the daily operations and maintenance of Music, Performing Arts, Career Technical Education: Fashion, Interior Design, Video Technology, and Commercial Music, and supporting with operations and instructing in Traditional and Digital Fabrication labs, including the Metal Fabrication studios (MIG/TIG welding), foundry (metal casting), and woodshops across 7 independent campuses around Dallas County.
Overseeing all digital fabrication equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC-milling technology.
Developing, implementing, and enforcing all laboratory safety protocols; I provide mandatory safety training for all faculty and students on equipment and the handling of hazardous materials.
Training and advising students and faculty in advanced fabrication techniques, demonstrating equipment capabilities, and assisting in the integration of digital and manual processes.
Managing all lab inventory, supplies, and equipment budgets, and making official recommendations for the testing and purchase of new technologies.
